Benham's Black Walnut Farms Rabbitry Sales Agreement

If a rabbit is purchased it will be assumed that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of this agreement.

Refusal of Sale

We may refuse sale of a rabbit at any time and for any reason. We will fully refund your deposit if this should occur.

“Due” Date (Getting your rabbit)

Unfortunately, placing a deposit for a particular waiting list doesn’t always guarantee that you will receive a bunny from that waiting list. Sometimes, our does don’t all end up with healthy, viable litters. This may put us short on the number of expected babies. This rarely happens, but if it does, we will rebreed immediately depending on the shortage or move you to the following waiting list. Deposits will not be refunded in these circumstances.

Other times, our does might have bigger litters than expected. In this case, kits can mature slower than usual. Some babies just need a little extra time to mature. When placing a deposit, it is important to realize that the date we give is an estimate and it could change at any time. We apologize if this happens, but it is for the health and safety of the rabbits.

Paying the Balance

The balance of a bunny is due at pick up and must be paid in cash before leaving our home. Only when a customer is shipping a rabbit can the balance be paid via Venmo or PayPal. If a customer is unable to pick up their bunny within 3 days of the wean date, the total balance will be due on day 4 in order for us to continue to hold their rabbit. We are able to hold a rabbit for up to one month past the wean date if the final balance has been paid in full. The first two weeks of boarding past the wean date are free, beyond that you will be charged a boarding fee of $5 per day.

Warranty

If you come to our farm to pick up your bun, we offer a Conditional Warranty. However, with the inherent risk involved in transport of rabbits, we cannot offer said Warranty.

Within 10 days of pick up, it is recommended that you take your new rabbit to a vet so they can be fully evaluated. If the vet finds any issues with your bunny within that time frame, we will provide a full refund or a replacement rabbit. Benham’s Black Walnut Farms Rabbitry is not liable for any medical expenses for your bunny.

We will accept an unwanted rabbit back to our barn, but it must come with his/her pedigree, as well as the cage he/she was living in. We will be unable to take back a rabbit that looks/acts ill as it could pose a significant health hazard to our herd. If, for some reason, the customer is no longer able to care for the new bunny or is not satisfied with the rabbit (temperament, color, gender, etc.), we will be unable to provide a refund.

Mix-Ups

Even the best rabbitry can have difficulties sexing a young rabbit properly. We feel confident that the bunny you choose is the gender we determine, but we cannot guarantee this. We do not exchange or refund bunnies for a mix up in gender.

We also cannot be certain on colors until the rabbit’s fur grows in.

Our Waiting List

Once your deposit is placed, you will receive a confirmation receipt. When litters arrive, we will alert individuals on the waiting list via email, as well as provide updates on our website so customers can see what is available. It is the customer’s responsibility to make a selection in a timely fashion. You must respond to the email alert within three hours, or the next person on the waiting list gets to pick. As a kit is chosen, it will be marked as sold on the website. Please be patient as customers select a bun based on the order of our waiting list. If you don’t see a bunny that you would like to take home, you can be moved to another waiting list. If you decide that you need more time before selecting a bunny, please let us know so we aren’t rejecting possible deposits. You can always be added again to our waiting list, as your previous deposit will still hold you a spot.

Deposits placed for a certain breed cannot be transferred to a waiting list for a different breed. If you make multiple deposits, but later decide you don’t want to purchase the same amount, the other deposits will not be refunded. You may, however, choose to use a deposit for a bunny at a later time.

Sometimes, a doe has a larger litter than expected. If that happens and you decide you would like another bunny, place another deposit. You will be able to make another selection after everyone else on the waiting list has made their pick.

Going Home

Potential show buns go home with a full pedigree. Pedigrees are not given with pet rabbits.

All rabbits go home with a “take home sack” of feed and hay in case your bun will transition to a new food. We will also provide an email and a print off of care instructions so you will be fully prepared when your new bun comes home!

Pick-Up

It is preferred that buyers come to our farm to pick up their new bun. At that time, we can show you how to properly hold and care for your bun. Your bunny should travel home in a proper carrier. Cardboard boxes will not work. Don’t forget the remaining balance for your bunny!

Only cash is accepted when paying in person, otherwise, we accept PayPal and Venmo ahead of pickup.
